MISTY JEAN

Born in Haiti, MISTY JEAN started performing at the early age of three with the dance institute of LYNN W. ROUZIER. She started singing at seven in amateur singing contests with Paul Villefranche. Since then, her passion for music became an obsession. At «ROGER ANGLADE» high school she was named solist of the choir and became an instant neighborwood celebrity. In 1998, she took part at «LA SOIREE MAGIQUE DE LA GUITARE». In 1999, she is chosen by the leading haitian cellular phone company HAITEL to be their main model in a major promotional campaign. During febuary 2001, she represented Haiti among twenty two countries in the election of «MISS WEST INDIES» in Saint Marteen. She won the contest for best talent and personality and was crowned «MISS WEST INDIES». In May 2001, she is at the Ritz Kinam in Petion Ville in a concert entitled «FEMME». You also find her in the album «CARIBBEAN ESCAPE» where she sings «Caresse Mwen». In febuary of 2002, she is crowned «Miss de la Francophonie» in Port-au-Prince. In march 2003, she performed at « DIVA’S NIGHT » at Gusto’s in Miami Lakes. On april 13th 2003, she was crowned «QUEEN OF CARNIVAL» at the «MIAMI MARDI GRAS». Her first album «PLUS PRES DE TOI» was released in June of 2004. It included such hits as : «Patizan», «Ce Ou Mwen Vle», «Maladie D’amour», «Ti Boy», «Nou Pap Kite», «Plus Pres De Toi», «Padone’m». On the fourth of july 2004, she performed live at the BAYFRONT PARK in Miami. In november 2004, she was awarded «FEMALE SINGER OF THE YEAR» by «TICKET D’OR» of Ticket Magazine in Haiti. In december 2005, she performed at Bataclan in Paris. In febuary 2006, she performed at Bicentenial Park for the «Greater Miami Mardi Gras». Her second album entitled « KONPA A GOGO » came out in may 2006. It contains the hit songs: «Konpa A Gogo» Featuring: Kaysha, «Car Wash», «Hear The Tam Tam», «Paradi Lanmou», «S’abandonner» Duet with Thierry Cham, «Tout Doucement», «Koupe Dekale», «Pour Toujours», «Camionette». In november 2006, she was awarded «FEMALE SINGER OF THE YEAR» by «TICKET D’OR». In december 2006, she released her first LIVE album together with her band composed of very young talented musicians. In January 2007, she is the host at the Haitian Independence Festival at Bayfront Park. Her third solo album «LI PA TWO TA» released in April 2008 contains the following tracks: «Kijan Lari A Ye», «Ne Touche Pas A Mon Homme», «Rev Mwen», «Pa Jije», «Tu pleures», «Vini’m Bo’w», «Li Pa Two Ta», «Lanmou Tounen Prizon», «Vale Fan’m», «Hommage A Ti Manno», «Tam Tam», «Lonely Lover».
